LungScore

LungScore is a program for the prevention of lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).  Exciting new scientific research suggests that screening with EBCT may detect lung cancer in its earliest stages, when removing the tumor has a much higher likelihood of being curative.  The white paper is an in depth description of our program.  The brochure is a shorter version, conataining key points.

The program should be considered for anyone with a significant smoking history, significant exposure to smoke, or exposure to another known risk factor for lung cancer, such as asbestos.

LungScore looks for:
  • Nodules: these oval shaped small lesions may be benign or malignant. If they change in size over time they should be removed.

  • Emphysema: loss of lung tissue associated with smoking and/or other air-borne pollutants.

  • Infiltrates: abnormal areas of lung tissue-possible inflammatory states.

  • Masses: larger lesions.
Pleural abnormalities: assessing the lining of the lungs.

  • Thoracic spine: assessing for degenerative changes in the bony structures of the spine, or other abnormalities.
