About NeckScore

The primary purpose of NeckScore is to look for plaque in the carotid arteries.

The presence of plaque may indicate an increased risk for stroke, with the quantity of plaque proportional to the risk. The report may comment on other incidental findings.

Each carotid artery is scored separately. You can interpret the scores as follows for each artery:

Score 0 = no visible plaque

Score 1-50 = mild plaque

Score 50-150 = moderate plaque

Score over 150 = large plaque
