HeartScore
HeartScore is the LifeScore Clinic’s test for coronary artery
calcium (CAC). CAC is a highly accurate marker for atherosclerosis,
or plaque, in the coronary arteries. The coronary arteries bring
blood to your heart. The more plaque you have, the higher your
risk for a heart attack.

The three pictures above show normal arteries on
the left, small plaque build-up in the middle, and severe plaque build-up
on the right. HeartScore accurately
and noninvasively measures the amount of plaque in your coronary arteries.
Scores fall into the following groups:
| 0 |
A perfect score! Lowest risk group for future heart attacks |
| 1-10 |
Minimal plaque. Very low risk |
| 11-100 |
Mild plaque. Low to moderate risk |
| 101-400 |
Moderate plaque. Moderate to high risk |
| Over 400 |
High plaque burden. Highest risk group |
